Tuesday - Wednesday, April 24 - 25, 2012

Out of the blue you said to me and Triston, "I want to be Amelia".  Amelia is Cooper's sister and she is 8 and we don't see her very often and the last time you saw her was a few weeks ago, so I was surprised to hear you bring her up.  I asked you, "You want to BE Amelia?"  And you said, "Yes, she's cute!"  Triston then said that you could not be Amelia because you are a boy and Amelia is a girl.  You then said you could dress up like her!  I asked if you you really liked Amelia and you said that she was nice!  I would say that Amelia is your first crush and that you like older women!

You also made me wear some black high heals around the house yesterday, you insisted that I wear them and told me that I looked cute in them.  I kept taking them off and you got upset and told me you wanted me to be cute.  I am more for the comfort at home, but you are all about the style!
You slept in until 7:40 today, which is amazing for you!  You have been getting up anywhere between 5:30 - 6:30!  And you were in a pretty reasonable and happy mood all day!  Please keep that up! :)

Friday - Monday, April 20 - 23, 2012

On Friday, April 20th, you got a new cousin!  Heather and Barry Jenks had a new son that they named Warren Jenks.  I showed you a picture and you said that you liked him!

You got your hair cut on Saturday and it got cut shorter than it has ever been.  When I first saw you, I thought you looked more like your dad than ever!  Triston said that you looked really different and on Sunday, when you and I were leaving Nursery, I grabbed your hand and started walking down the hall and someone looked at you and said, "Hi Alexander", when I looked down, it was not you, but it was Alexander!  I had just kidnapped someone from Nursery thinking it was you!  I am never cutting your hair short again!

You had a really rough day on Sunday!  You were up early and you had tantrum after tantrum!

When ever I ask you what you would like to eat for any meal, you answer is always, "MACANONI and Cheese!"  And you get very upset when I tell you that the answer is no.

I have been cleaning out the office and have been putting all the cards and art projects of yours and Tristons in a box and you two found them and started pulling them out and Triston sent you from the living room, to my room where I was to ask me who each thing belonged to and who gave it to you!  You were very glad to be his gopher and run back and forth to give him my answers.  You then pulled out the items you really liked and put them under your bed.

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Today was Triston's pre-school graduation from the pre-school we do with his friends and we all got to go and enjoy a big party!  There were games, like a fishing pond, pin the graduation hat on the smiley face and number matching games.  We had it at the theater that the Andrews own and we had popcorn, cupcakes that had graduation hats and your favorite part was the cotton candy.  It was a lot of fun and you even got a cape along with all the graduates!

You are a child with no fear and you are not shy at all.  We went to the Pizza Pie Cafe and I gave you some forks to carry to our table and you went and handed them out to other people.  You want and love to talk to all people that are around you.  It amazes me to watch you, because you are braver than me!  That is something you definitely get from your dad!

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

A couple of days ago, I noticed a big black spot on one of your back teeth, I thought it was food, so I tried scrubbing it away with the toothbrush, but it would not go away, so horridly I realized it was a cavity!  I got you an appointment this afternoon for a Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Mauseth and you were so brave and well-behaved!  You did everything the hygienist wanted you to do and you didn't complain, you just laid back and enjoyed watching "Tangled" on the ceiling and listening through the headphones.  You told the hygienist that the toothpaste tasted funny and you were so excited to get a new toothbrush that lights up and the dentist gave you a token to put in a machine to get a toy for being so brave!  When we first got there you told the receptionist that you had a dentist in your mouth!  She thought that was pretty funny!  The only downfall is that you have 3 cavities!  I feel terrible!  We really do brush your teeth every morning and night, but I feel like it's all my fault!  And genetically, both your dad and I have bad teeth, so you were pretty much doomed from the beginning!  So, your appointment to fix the cavities is in a week, so we'll see how you do!

Today, the wind was really wild and vicious.  When we were outside, you got into a fighting stance and yelled "Go away wind!  I hate you!  Go to Idaho Falls!"  That was pretty funny, but you were ready to take on all the wind!

We got pull-ups today with Diego on the them, so I am hoping for some success!

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

You didn't get a nap today because I had a bereavement meeting at the hospital and my friend Evelyn watched you, so that ended up with you having an hour long temper tantrum at Grandma's house. You wanted a specific jelly bean and then you didn't want to eat and then your pants got wet and then you were cold and then you wanted your diaper changed and then you were just mad, mad, mad at everything else! It was a rough evening!

We left our car at Evelyn's house for her husband to fix the A/C, so we are borrowing Grandpa's truck and you LOVE riding in it! You think it's so big!

Monday, April 16, 2012

You had kind of a bad day yesterday. First, you fell down the stairs, you actually did a head first dive, which was pretty scary! You got a rug burn on your tummy, which you are pretty proud of and then a little bit later on in the day, you and I ran into each other and I gave you a pretty good scratch right under your eye. But, you have some good stories to tell people who ask you what happened to your eye. You like to blame it on Reagan, which just does not make any sense! And then today when I was helping you out of your car seat, I lightly scratched your arm, but you reacted by saying "Why do you always scratch me?" It was pretty funny!

Sunday, April 15, 2012

11:00 church is pretty hard for you! You get pretty tired during nursery and you are ready for your nap! Since we don't get home from church until 2:00, you don't take a "normal" nap, after a quick lunch, we all sit on the couch, watch a movie and you and I fall asleep! It's a great set-up! The only problem is that you always wake up very cranky and take a very long time to go to sleep at night!

You love it when I wrestle and tickle you! I need to remember to do it a few times a day!

Saturday, April 14, 2012

You are getting so good at riding your bike! I have to run to keep up with you, but you still get stuck often and need help getting going and if the road slants, you tend to slide with the slant!

While we were riding bikes in the park, you found a dog and stopped several times to pet it and play with it and you called it your puppy friend!

You started crying in bed tonight and when I went to check on you, the cover on the night light had fallen off and was casting strange shadows on the walls. You were pretty scared of one shadow right above your head! Speaking of going to bed at night, you are the master of delays! I have to go in several times to give you one more hug and kiss. And you often need me to help you find your blankie or doggie!

You have had quite an imagination lately. Yesterday, you told me that when Nolan was a baby, he punched you in the stomach and leg. I am just not sure where you come up with some of your stories!

Friday, April 13, 2012

We had a busy day today! First, you and Triston went to Heather Tanner's house as usual, while I worked. After lunch, we met Cooper at G's Dairy for ice-cream to celebrate his birthday. You and Triston gave him a huge frisbee!

After naps, we met Triston's friend Corbin from pre-school and his Mom at Fatcats and went bowling! This was the first time you met Corbin and you were pretty excited to hang out with him, but you were also pretty shy around him. Corbin wears a helmet to protect him from seizures that he has and doesn't talk. It was really nice to meet Corbin's mom.

Then for dinner, we went to the church where a family in the ward was having a "pie" party. You had a great time standing on the stage and yelling out the audience that you were doing a play and you are just not shy at all and you love the attention!

Today out of the blue, you told me, "Mom, you're beautiful!" and then at another time, you said, "Mom, you're a genius!" Well, I can't argue with that! :)

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Thursday, April 12, 2012

All day, you ask constantly to ride your bike. Even when the wind is blowing 100 miles an hour, which it often does in Idaho in the Spring! :)

Your favorite game to play with me is "Vacuum Monster!" Whenever I vacuum, you and Triston run around the room, saying, "You can't get me" and then I chase you with the vacuum and you run screaming away from it. I think it could entertain you for hours!

You have been very interested in baby's being in Mommy's tummies lately. After I told you that you were once in Mommy's tummy, you keep telling me that you don't want to go in my tummy ever again. You must be pretty worried about that because as much as try easing that fear for you , you keep bringing it up!

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

You have been LOVING riding your bike! After your first initial success at riding the "big boy" bike, you decided that you didn't like it and went back to riding the trike and actually, you don't even ride the trike, you push it all over! But, finally, just the other day, we fixed your training wheels so the bike didn't tip as much, and now you can't get enough of riding it! You are really good at it too! Once in a while you still get stuck and need a little push to get you going again. You also love wearing your new safety pads. They are Lightning McQueen and you look so cute in the knee pads, elbow pads and hand guards! You even tell me that you look cute!

Today, you and Triston played in the empty ditch across the street. You loved playing in the dirt and you kept finding "treasures!"

You finally had some success with potty training! For months, I have been telling you that if you poop on the potty, I would get you Spider-Man pj's. But, you have been refusing and have no interest. We pretty much gave up on potty-training, but we still had the PJ deal! The first weekend of April, General Conference Weekend, we went to West Yellowstone and hung out with the Thueson's, Andrews' and Tanner's. As you were eating dinner, you said you needed to go poop. So, grudgingly, I took you to the bathroom, thinking you were only saying that for fun, but you went poop in the potty! It was so great and the first thing you wanted to do was tell Heather Tanner, (who has still been babysitting on Mon, Wed & Fri, who you call your teacher). It was very exciting, but unfortunately, you haven't repeated it!

You have been so good at sleeping in your big boy bed! It actually took you a month of sleeping in it before you would get out of it yourself. You would still call out for me to come and get you! You have fallen out of it a couple of times during the night, but you still love it!

You have overcome your fear of swings! Last summer you did NOT like swinging and when you did, you did not like to go very high. But, this year, you are enjoying it and want to go high and fast!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Yesterday was Triston's 5th birthday and you are so good at singing Happy Birthday to him! You picked out a "Diego" action boat toy for him and helped me wrap it, but when it came time for Triston to open it, you got a little upset because you wanted to open it.

Today we went swimming at the Apple with Grandma, Heather, Quinton and Clara. You are still a little bit wary of the water and like someone to hang onto the entire time. We then spent the afternoon at Grandma's playing outside and enjoying the warm, Spring weather.

You have really taken a huge liking to Quinton. You want to do everything he is doing, which causes a little bit of a problem because Quinton wants to do everything Triston is doing. I had you and Quinton in my car today and you two together are CRAZY! You were both laughing at everything the other said. You would say "bump" and Quinton would laugh, Quinton would say "dog" and you would laugh. Like I said - CRAZY!

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

Daddy came in his big, work big truck and you and Triston think it is so fun to ride in! You also love that you can reach the window lever and roll down the window. You can't do that in the van. You are sure being spoiled by Daddy! You get to go to McDonald's all the time and he is always getting you lots of treats!

We bought you a new mattress today for your new big boy bed and you are so excited!

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

Monday, February 27, 2012

One of your favorite things ever to do is go through the car wash! I don't go through one very often, but whenever you see one, you try to get me to! We went through one today with Jeni's car adn then while I vacuumed out the car, you and Triston peek through the windows of the carwash and follow the cars.

Daddy came tonight to loan us his car because he has a company truck to drive and you were so excited to see him! You love going to Grandma's to spend the night with him.

Thursday - Sunday, February 23 - 26, 2012

We had a fun weekend in Mountain Home with the Jenks Family! We left Thursday afternoon and picked up Grandma Packer. About 20 miles away from our destination, we had a huge adventure - the van broke down! We had to wait about an hour for the tow truck to come and you and Triston were bouncing all over the place. When the tow truck finally came at 9:30, you and Connor were so excited to ride in it and enjoyed it for about 5 minutes before you both fell asleep. But, you were excited to be at Quinton and Clara's!

Heather and Barry left Friday morning for a little get-a-way, so we had tons of fun with Grandma and Quinton and Clara. You all played outside for a long time and ran around the house and wrestled and played. Grandma and I made you "glow" jars and you ran around the house pretending that you had caught monsters in them. Saturday was spent playing more and Grandma and I made you a pajama eater - an animal to keep your pajamas in during the day. You got a doggy, Triston got a doggy, Quinton got a dinosaur and Clara got a caterpillar. You all loved them and ran around the house with them!

You had a great accomplishment on Saturday! You got on Clara's two-wheel bike, with training wheels, and you pedalled! I was in complete shock! It was your first time ever trying to pedal and you did it! I remember trying to teach Triston how to pedal and it was so hard and took several times and tries! I was dreading trying to teach you, but now I am excited for Spring to come so we can go on bike rides!

On Sunday, we went to Stake Conference and ended up sitting in the Relief Society room, which was kind of nice because it gave us a little bit more freedom. You 4 kids were really good for the whole two hours.

Because the van was a goner and needed a new engine, Grandpa Packer drove over and rescued us and we all drove home on Sunday afternoon. You were exhausted from all that playing and took a good, long nap!

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

You and Triston say some words in the same way. The one I noticed today was girl. You both say it like "grrr" and the L is very hard to hear. It's so cute!

I told you that you were going to be getting a new bed and you told me that you "were so excited!"

You insisted on me carrying you around on my back. You just kind of jump up there, when I pass you and you're standing on a couch or chair. If it wasn't for you choking me, it wouldn't be too bad to carry you that way!

I finally told you and Triston that were going to go to Quinton's house tomorrow. When you finally understood that it wasn't until tomorrow, you were so mad and threw one of your famous temper-tantrums!

It was really windy and cold today. When ever we went out side, you wanted me to carry you and buried your head into me and if I made you walk, you kept crying, "it's cold, it's cold". You really do not like the wind!

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

You and I both had a pretty bad day. We went to Idaho Falls and I took your diaper off when we went to dinner because it was so full and didn't put another one on. We then stopped at Grandma Packer's house on the way home and you pooped in your pants and it was the biggest mess of poop I have ever had to clean up! What am I going to do with you and potty training?

When I tried to put you in bed for a nap this afternoon, you told me, "But I will be disgusting." I never did figure out what you were trying to say instead of disgusting, but it sure was funny.

Monday, February 20, 2012

Monday, February 20, 2012

Have I mentioned how difficult it is to put you to bed? Every night, I have to go into your room at least 6 times to give you another hug and kiss or put the blankets on you. I love that you want to keep giving me good night hugs and kisses, but I know it's just stall technique. Triston usually falls asleep before you do, because he does not take a nap and you do, and this makes you pretty upset. You start yelling at him and when I go in to see what is going on, you tell me, "Triston is not talking to me." I try to let you cry it out or get bored of trying to get my attention and ignore you, but you go on for hours! You are one stubborn little boy!

Sunday, February 19, 2012

Friday - Saturday, February 17-19, 2012

Tammy and her family stayed with us this weekend and you had such a great time playing with Bridger, Braxton and Brielle. You and Brielle especially got along really well and she is so patient with you. You were pretty sad when they left.

Yesterday, you got your pictures taken at JcPenny for your birthday. You smiled so good and posed so good for the photographers, until they gave you a baseball bap, glove and ball to pose with. You then decided you wanted to play baseball and got so sad when we all told you that you couldn't play right then. There is a really sad photo of a very sad, pouty face! I love it!

Thursday, February 16, 2012

Thursday, February 16, 2012

We have got to do something about your competitive streak! You have complete melt-downs if Triston beats you getting dressed. I can not get you to understand that it is ok to not win. When Triston started getting competitive and he would lose, I taught him to say, "It's OK, I can try next time!" I can not teach you that at all and you do not want to hear it. You want to win "right now" and every time!

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

We got a great opportunity tonight! The Andrews have a small plane, (a 4-seater) and they offered to take us for a ride. You were so excited! I wasn't going to take you, bu you heard me talking about it and you were not going to let Triston and me get away without you. Mommy was way more nervous than you and Triston and you didn't even bat an eye! We got to go for about 45 minutes and flew all over Rexburg and got to see lots of lights and our favorite was the temple all lit up! You kept saying that you wanted to stay in the air forever! I am pretty sure that you are fearless!

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Happy Valentines Day! You are such a sweet valentine! All day long you kept saying to me, "Happy Valentines Day!" When we went to the library, you even told the library Happy Valentines Day! We had pink pancakes for breakfast and Jeni invited us for a Valentine dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Packer and Grandma Gardner. She made a heart chicken wreath and pink rice. I made cupcakes made with a frosting heart and your present from me was the DVD "Lady and the Tramp".

Cooper came over and gave you and Triston a Valentine and you were pretty excited about that and then you got Valentines in the mail from Quinton and Clara and that was even more exciting!

Last summer, John and Mackayla created a play called "The Campout" and tonight you all finally performed it for us. You were thrilled to be in the spotlight and walked around saying, "So", when you didn't know what else you were supposed to be doing.

Monday, February 13, 2012

Monday, February 13, 2012

We went to the funeral for your great, great Uncle Dearold Ferguson. Your Great Grandma Gardner flew in for her brother's funeral and it is nice to have her around, but you keep calling her Grandma Karen.

It was also Aunt Jeni's birthday today and you loved singing Happy Birthday to her. But, you also loved singing happy birthday to yourself. Out of the blue, you would just start singing "Happy Birthday, Dear Connor". When I told you it wasn't your birthday, you kept saying, "yes, it is."

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Daddy left this morning, but he sure spoiled you while he was here. He took you shopping and bought you new clothes and got you a Wii, and you and Triston love playing Baseball. You had a few "Mommy", separation moments. Every time you left with Dad, you wanted hugs and kisses from me and wanted to know when you would see me again. Sometimes it took many hugs and kisses, but I didn't mind. I love your hugs and kisses! I missed you a lot while you were with Daddy! I do need my mommy time, but I always miss you!

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Daddy surprised you this morning by being in the car when I picked you up from Heather's house. You were so happy! Daddy took you and Triston to lunch at McDonalds, took you to the "firework" movie theater to play video games and get prizes and went to the other movie theater to watch "Beauty and the Beast". You are so fun to watch movies with. You yell at the screen and laugh loudly at all the right places. You had a very busy day! And now tonight you are spending the night with Daddy at Grandma Packer's. Just always remember that I love you so, so much!

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

As much as I can say you are my trouble child, you really are a sweet, little boy! You love holding my hand and love giving me kisses and hugs and you are always telling me that you love me. I am so lucky to be your mom!

After your nap today, you told me all about the monsters and spiders that were in your dreams. There are lots of shadows on your walls and that is what you think are the monsters.

Monday, February 6, 2012

Monday, February 6, 2012

I put you in bed 35 minutes ago and all I hear from the bedroom is your constant chatter. You really have become a talker lately. I don't think you stop to breathe. Well, you do take plenty of opportunities to scream and cry. You are also really good at screaming the very second you get upset or want something. When I ask you if that is how you should ask for something, you will stop screaming and ask nicely, if only I could get you to do that from the beginning! When I went in to tell you two to stop talking tonight, you told me that you and Triston were pumpkins! That cracked me up! Some night, I should sneak in your room and listen to you and Triston talk to each other when you should be sleeping!

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Aunt Jessica sent you a huge lollipop the other day and today you and Triston decided you wanted to eat them. I told you you could eat them at Grandma's when we went there for dinner and the Superbowl. So, when it was time to go to church, you were very upset that we were going to church and not Grandma's. You even kept telling your nursery teachers that you were going to Grandmas.

You did eat the lollipop and it was a disastrous mess!

Saturday, February 4, 2012

You got to hang out with Grandpa Packer for a couple of hours today while I played with Grandma and Aunt Jeni. He let you play outside and cut up a coconut with you.

You really have been a chatter-box lately. You talk and talk and talk. You also tell a lot of tall tales. You tell me stories about fire trucks and monsters and how they beat you up and you beat them up. When I ask you if you are being honest or lying, you always tell me that you are being honest.

Friday, February 3, 2012

The toy that you are obsessed with today is Spiderman! It's a Spiderman that has suction cups on his hands, and we've had it forever, but today you decided that is was your favorite toy ever!

When I drop you off at Heather Tanner's house on Mon, Wed and Fri, you get up set and you cry because you don't want me to leave. When I pick you you up, you never want to leave and it takes me forever to get you out of her house! Silly boy!

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Thursday, February 2, 2012

You and Triston received a package today from Aunt Jessica which was full of Snoopy! There were two stuffed Snoopys and Snoopy toys and treats. At Christmas, Jessica went to Disneyland and there must be a Snoopy village somewhere. You both LOVE your Snoopys and have kept them by your sides!

She also sent you two birthday cards and $5 for your birthday! Today, you looked at me very seriously and said, "Mommy, when is it going to be your birthday?"

You were a little naughty today in Broulims. You wanted to get a different kind of milk than I got. You wanted the red milk, not the blue milk, so you started spitting on me and kicking me. What am I going to do with your temper?

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

You didn't want to help clean up your room today. I have got to find a way to teach you that you have to be responsible for your belongings.

You love cutting paper! It could keep you entertained for hours!

Tonight as you were going to bed, you asked, as usual, what we were doing tomorrow. When I explained that Triston was going to pre-school, and you got to hang out with me, you got very upset. "I don't want to hang out with you!" You were so upset about it. I am sorry I am so boring! :)

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Again you obsessed with Spiderman today and he accompanied you everywhere. It's funny, you will lay him down for 1 minute and then have a panic attack because you can' find him and he's usually right behind you!

It's getting harder to take you to watch Triston at tumbling. You think it is also your tumbling time and you run all over the mats and jump and play and you even tell me that you are you doing your tumbling!

You just started climbing out of your crib a couple of weeks ago. I don't know why you never tried to climb out, but now I am so glad that it took you so long to realize you could do it! You've been in bed for 30 minutes and I've had to put you back in your crib 5 times!

Monday, January 30, 2012

Monday, January 30, 2012

You have quite a competitive streak in you! Sometimes you want to race Triston in getting dressed in the morning or into PJ's at night. If Triston wins, you have a very hard time accepting it. You scream and cry and say that you don't want him to win. Usually, after baths, you want me to help Triston get lotion and PJ's on first because that gives you more time to run around the house naked! So, last night you said, "Help Triston first", so I started to get him dressed first and you had a big fit and said, "No, me first". And they aren't little fits you have, they are HUGE! I try to explain to you that if you don't win, you just say, "Maybe next time". That worked so well with Triston when he went through a competitive state, but it does NOT work with you! You want to win!

Every once in a while you will get attached to a certain toy and today, it was a little spiderman toy. You carried it everywhere and wanted it all the time!

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Sunday, January 29, 2012

My visiting teachers came over today and you and Triston sure love the attention from them. I can't believe how different you act when other people come over. You jump all over the place and on them and you act like I never give you any attention. I just don't understand how you become a completely different person when new people come over, and Triston is the same way! Silly, silly boys!

The last few weeks, you have been very, very lovey! You spontaneously give me hugs and kisses and tell me that you love me! Going to bed at night, you have to give me several big hugs and big kisses and you call me back into your room several times to give more hugs and kisses. I'm beginning to think that it is a big stall tactic, but I still love the idea!

Saturday, January 28, 2012

Saturday, January 28, 2012

You did really good today telling me when you wanted to go potty. You still wore a diaper, because I'm not ready to clean up poop again! :) But, I was really proud of you and I think you really like the sticker chart we made for you!

We went to Pizza Pie Cafe with Grandma and Grandpa and the Bybee's. It was yummy, but all you wanted was the chocolate pizza! We then went to the movie, "Hugo". It wasn't a cartoon, so I was worried about how well you would like it, but both you and Triston did really well during it! You both just got a little tired at the end of it and got a little restless.

You are still learning the art of whispering. You just don't know how to do it and you are pretty loud when you are supposed to be quiet! :) The funniest thing you said during the movie was, "I just saw Santa Clause" because there was a guy in the movie with a big white beard!

Friday, January 27, 2012

Friday, January 27, 2012

Driving around Idaho Falls today, and you said you wanted to go there. I asked why you wanted to go there and you said "To pick up Grandma" and when I told you that Grandma was not there, you said "To pick up Grandpa". When I told you that the hospital was only for sick people, you said, "But, I am so sick. This gum made me sick and is making me turn red." You and Triston have been watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and you both made references to that movie today! So funny!

On the way home a few hours later, it was late and you said you were tired and that you didn't want to go to the hospital anymore but wanted to go home with me!

We finally got enough snow to go out and play! Yes, it is almost February and this is the first real snow storm that we have had all winter. But, we had fun making a snow man and having a snow ball fight. John and Mackayla joined us and we even had hot chocolate afterwards.

You really know how to work your magic. If you want something or want my attention, you tell me, "I love you" or "I need you" or "I want to give you a hug" or "I want to give you a kiss"! You know how to turn on the charm!

Triston played at a friend's house today, so I got to spend some time alone with you. And you crack me up! You kept giving me "Zurberts". You are a complete tease!

For the last few days, we have been talking about making you a chart for you to keep tracking of going potty and getting a prize when the chart is full. We go you stickers and finally made the chart today. You are pretty excited about it. There are some days when you say you want to be potty trained and wear underwear, but there are still other days when you do not want anything to do with it. So, I hope the chart helps. I am ready for you to be potty trained! I know you are smart enough and ready, but you are also stubborn!

I usually cut your fingernails and toenails when you are in the bathtub and to keep you entertained, I make up "Little Piggy" stories with each finger and toe. "This little piggy went to the library today", etc. But, today when I started cutting your fingernails, you told me that those weren't piggies and that you feet were the piggies!

On Tuesdays, Triston has tumbling at Airbound Tumbling and Cheer. You and I usually sit and watch him, but sometimes we run a few errands. Today, we stayed and watched him. You like to play on the extra mats and tell me that you are doing your tumbling. Now that you are 3, you are old enough to join tumbling, but I called the owner today and she doesn't have any openings for you! That made me really sad!

Today after your nap, you got out of the crib yourself and came and found me and you were so proud of yourself. You told me you snuck out of bed, and I don't think you realized that you slept for 2 hours! Silly boy!

Today after your nap, you told me all about the dreams you had! There was something about a spiderweb and then a pirate and doggy and butterflies and cake. I think you are developing quite an imagination!

You got a birthday card in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Boorom. It had Snoopy on it and you read the card to me, and it said something like, "Happy Birthday to Connor from Snoopy and Grandma and Snoopy likes Connor!" I was pretty surprised that you could read all that!

Sunday, January 22, 2012

John came over this afternoon and put together the castle play set that you got for your birthday and you and John and Triston have been playing with it for a long time! It is really fun to hear you and Triston playing!

You can be a little spitfire though! You sure want everything done your way! When Triston is not doing things your way, you basically just tackle him or throw something at him. We are really trying to work on your temper!

Tonight, you went into the bathroom and said you needed your privacy. When I asked what you were doing, you said, "I'm not telling you". So, I went to investigate and you had chapstick and didn't want me to see it.

Another fun-filled day for your birthday! We went to "Chipwrecked", the newest Chipmunks movie with John and Mackayla. I think you favorite part of the movie was drinking all the 7-Up and eating popcorn. Sometimes you still get bored at the movie theater and have a hard time sitting still. We then had dinner with the Bybee family and Grandma and Grandpa Packer. It was fun! For dinner, we had "3" different vegetables to dip, "3" types of jello, bread sticks in the shape of "3" and "3" cheese chicken alfredo penne! Grandma Packer made you a "Mater" cake and you really thought it was super cool!
Triston gave you a "Diego" car, which you really liked and he was a good big brother and showed him how to play with it. John gave you fluffy cat that he made all by himself without a pattern. You named it "Super Why, Super Why, Kitty". I think that is because Triston named a dog he got for Christmas, "Super Why, Rockstar, Super Why, Rockstar". Grandma and Grandpa gave you a construction play set and "1 Fish, 2 Fish" book. Jeni gave you, are you ready for this? I'm sure you will be embarrassed by this someday! She gave you a Barbie that turns into a fairy. You have loved Barbie movies so much and I think it is so funny she gave it to you. You really are obsessed with Barbie. You can create wings for the Barbie and you would fly her around like an airplane! Mommy gave you a Castle play set and Daddy gave you a Spiderman bike. You were so funny when you were opening the presents. You would look at it and everyone would ask you "What is it?" and you would tell us and then look for another present to open. I think you really liked the presents, but you "REALLY" liked opening them. When I showed you the bike, you were really excited and said "A Spiderman bike, just like Triston!" A little later, I asked you if you would rather have a Spiderman bike or a Barbie bike and you said Spiderman! Even though you are going through a "Barbie Phase" right now you are ALL boy! You then said that you didn't want to get on it because you would fall off, but I helped you sit on it and you got comfortable with it in no time!
Last night you woke up crying around 12:30. You don't do that very often and I can usually put the blankets back on you and you go back to sleep, but last night you were pretty frantic and did not want to go back in your bed and wanted to go in my bed. You then told me that you had a dream that there were spiderwebs all over your bed and then a monster came and ate the spiderwebs. You weren't scared of the monster, only the spiderwebs. You and Triston did watch Spiderman the other day for the first time, so I'm guessing that is where the spiderweb talk came from. I wish I did know what you were dreaming. Sometimes you tell me about your dreams and they are usually very long and filled with monsters and bad guys!

Friday, January 20, 2012 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Today is your 3rd Birthday! Happy, Happy Birthday! You are such an amazing little boy and I love you so much! You have your own mind and your own way of how you want things and you are stubborn and you are a tease and you give the best hugs ever!

This morning when you woke up, there were 3 helium balloons tied to your bed and you were so excited to see them this morning and you have dragged them around all day! You have always loved balloons! The living room was decorated with "Happy Birthday" banners and other balloons. You kept asking what the signs said and you had a lot of fun playing with all the balloons! You wanted pancakes for breakfast and you got a new shirt with "The Cat in The Hat" on it. You also got a ribbon with "Birthday Boy" on it and you loved wearing it all day and told everyone it said, "Happy Birthday Boy"! You even insisted on putting it on your pajamas tonight!

You went to Heather Tanner's house while Triston went to pre-school and Mommy worked and then you had your favorite lunch of Macaroni and Cheese. After lunch you played with Triston. Mommy made an ice sculpture with hidden treasures in it and you and Triston dug them out. We were going to go to the "Chipmunk" movie, but it was right during dinner time and you really wanted to go to "Applebees", so we went to dinner with Jeni, John and Mackayla and we will go to the movie tomorrow. I am not sure why you like "Applebees" so much, because we have only been there a couple of times, but you and Triston always talk about it and get excited when we drive by it. You even got your own hot fudge sunday and you shared it with everyone!

You got to pick the movie out at "Redbox" and with Mommy's help, you chose "Mars Needs Moms" and we watched it with Triston and John. It was a good day and tomorrow the celebrations will continue!

You really are amazing! I am SO happy that you are part of our family! Happy 3rd Birthday!
